Summer holidays are here. Summer… holidays….. are…….. here. Wow. For the last 24 hours I’ve been having to constantly remind myself of this fact. After months and months of hard schoolwork and near-constant stress I finally have nine weeks of – mostly – mere relaxation ahead of me. As cliché and expectable as it may sound: I was never more ready for a good summer holiday. My body has been aching for a few good nights of sleep and hours of just not thinking or doing anything. Now’s the time.
Except, of course, I may or may not have a few projects (some more exciting, some less) planned for these next two months. One of those projects being the resolution to make up for the “blogpostlessness” of the previous months and to provide you with some wonderful recipes and restaurant reviews. That’s the plan. Thinking about it, it’s a plan that won’t be too hard to fulfill since my family and I will be headed to Tuscany next Saturday, which can only mean: Food, food and more delicious food. So, that’s something you can look forward to in the near future.
For now, I just wanted to share a few pictures of the “Oh-shit-summer-holidays-are-finally-here”-dinner, which I had with my family yesterday evening. It included cold punch (made out of cantaloupe, peaches and sparkling wine), a delicious tomato-cucumber-salad (just how I like it) and some satay sticks (which tasted like they came straight from heaven, but which I unfortunately forgot to take pictures of).
All there is left to say is: Enjoy the start of your summer holidays and get ready for some wonderful blog action these next two months. Starting with a recipe from the US (no, I haven’t forgotten that it’s 4 July today), which will be up on the blog later today.
